Acceptable Use Policy
In short: no piracy, no malware, no scams, no harassment, no fake reviews, no bypassing the marketplace. We remove content and accounts that break these rules, and we want you to tell us when you see it.
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses CodeMercio: visitors, Buyers and Sellers. It is part of the Terms of Use and takes effect on November 6, 2026.
Products and content that are not allowed
You must not list, upload, share or link to:
- Pirated, cracked or nulled work, leaked source code, license-key generators, or anything you do not have the right to publish or sell;
- Malware and harmful code: viruses, back doors, ransomware, hidden crypto miners, code that phones home or collects data without clear disclosure, or code that disables a product at the Seller's will;
- Tools for illegal activity, such as scripts built for fraud, phishing, credential stuffing, spam or mass account creation, bypassing paywalls or licenses of other products, cheating tools that break a game's rules or terms, DDoS tools, or unauthorised access to systems;
- Stolen or scraped personal data, and databases of personal data without lawful basis;
- Adult or exploitative material, anything sexualising minors (which we report to the authorities), content that glorifies violence against people, or hate speech;
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, publicity or privacy rights, including game assets, logos or code copied from a platform you are not allowed to resell;
- Products that imitate or imply they are official products of another company (for example by using their logo as your brand) instead of clearly saying they are independent and compatible;
- Gambling, weapons, drugs and regulated services that need licenses you do not hold, and anything else that is illegal where you or the buyer live;
- Misleading listings: fake demos, stolen screenshots, false compatibility or feature claims, fake sales or fake discounts.
Conduct that is not allowed
- Reselling, redistributing, sharing or relisting purchased files outside your license.
- Harassing, threatening, doxxing or discriminating against others, or spamming, including in messages, questions, reviews and profile text.
- Fake or manipulated reviews: writing reviews for products you did not buy, reviewing your own or a competitor's product, offering or accepting payment, refunds or discounts for reviews, or creating accounts for this purpose.
- Moving transactions off the platform to avoid fees or buyer protections, or asking for payment outside CodeMercio.
- Abusing refunds or chargebacks to obtain products for free.
- Attempting to break, probe, overload or scrape the Service, evade rate limits, bots, bulk account creation, or reselling access to your account.
- Sharing other people's private messages or personal data without permission.
- Impersonating another person, a Seller, our staff or a brand.
- Using the Service to infringe sanctions or export controls.
Reviews, questions and messages
Reviews and answers must be honest, on topic and based on your own experience. Criticise the product, not the person. Do not include personal data (yours or others), advertising or links to unrelated services. Messages are for questions about listings and orders; Buyers and Sellers must be polite and keep to the subject. Use the report buttons on a review, question or message when something breaks these rules; our moderators review reports.
Security research
Responsible reports are welcome at support@codemercio.com. Do not access data that is not yours, disrupt the Service, or publicise a vulnerability before we have had a reasonable time to fix it. We will not take action against good-faith research that follows these rules.
Reporting a problem
- Copyright and trademark claims: use the takedown procedure.
- Anything else (illegal content, scams, abuse, safety risks, fake reviews): use the report buttons, the contact form or support@codemercio.com. Tell us what it is, where it is (a URL helps), and why it breaks the rules. If content is illegal we can remove it quickly.
How we enforce this policy
We may, at our discretion and in proportion to the problem: remove or hide content, reject or unpublish listings, limit features such as messaging or listing, hold payouts or reverse earnings tied to a violation, suspend or close accounts, revoke licenses for products obtained improperly, and report illegal activity to the authorities. For serious or repeated violations we may act without warning; otherwise we normally tell you what we did and why and give you a way to answer. If you think we got it wrong, write to support@codemercio.com and we will review it. Where the EU Digital Services Act applies, we explain a decision that restricts content or an account (including the reason and how to appeal) to the affected user.
Changes
We may update this policy as the marketplace and the law change. The "last updated" date above shows the current version.
