Accessibility Statement
CodeMercio wants everyone to be able to browse, buy and sell on the site, including people who use assistive technology. This statement describes what we do and where we still fall short.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That includes the main pages of the storefront: home, browse, listing pages, cart, checkout, account and the seller area.
What we do
- Pages use semantic headings, landmarks and labelled form fields, with a "Skip to content" link at the top.
- The site can be used with a keyboard, and focus is visible.
- Text and controls are designed to meet colour-contrast requirements and to remain readable when zoomed to 200%.
- Images that carry information have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Layouts adapt to small screens and do not require horizontal scrolling for reading.
- Moving or time-limited content, such as sale countdowns, can be dismissed and does not announce every second to screen readers.
Known limitations
- Product screenshots and previews are supplied by sellers; their text alternatives and the text inside the images may not always be complete.
- Some seller-written descriptions may use headings or links that are less clear than we would like.
- A few interactive widgets, such as image galleries and filters, are still being refined for assistive technology.
- Downloaded products are third-party software and have their own accessibility characteristics.
